About this module
Most of this programme has focused on individuals: understanding, supporting and treating people who are struggling. Public mental health goes upstream. Rather than only rescuing people from the river, it asks why people keep falling in. This module introduces the social determinants of mental health, the three tiers of prevention, and how schools and workplaces can protect mental health. You will learn how India's National and District Mental Health Programmes, ASHA workers, digital health and NGOs are expanding access, and why the future lies in 'Mental Health in All Policies'.
