About this module
If mental health conditions are so common, and so treatable, why do most people in India never seek help? The single biggest answer is stigma. This module explains what stigma is and how it operates on three levels: public, self and institutional. It looks at how stigma is multiplied by gender, class and geography, how it harms people inside the healthcare system, and how the media feeds it. Most importantly, it gives you the evidence-based tools to dismantle stigma: language, social contact, education and advocacy, together with a practical plan you can start using tomorrow.
